What do you think about post-modernity? For the majority it is a menace of which people have to flee, just like the bubonic plague. Many do not even know what it is post-modernity, but they do understand that it contradicts a good portion of what they take for granted. Others know something about the topic and understand that some premises of post-modernity collide with what we have learned and believed. From a theological and pastoral perspective, this implies a series of tasks. The first one is to try to understand what is post-modernity, not as a theory postulated by philosophers, but rather as a new reality we are entering. Second, it is not enough to bring clarity to what is post-modernity; it is also important to see what challenges and opportunities it presents. Third, since every new era in history presents new opportunities of service and of obedience, also good and evil seek for new ways to prevail. Therefore, it is necessary to help discern the errors and dangers that accompany it. After all, there is no other alternative but to be post-modern: but that does not mean that we have to be post-modernists!

¿Qué piensas sobre la posmodernidad? Para la mayoría, es una amenaza de la que la gente tiene que huir, al igual que la peste bubónica.
