Desafíos Perennes: Aciertos y Desaciertos en la Historia de la Iglesia

En palabras del autor: “Este libro es el resultado de una gentil invitación del Seminario Bíblico Alianza del Ecuador a su Evento Nacional de Actualización Ministerial con el tema Aciertos y desaciertos en la historia de la iglesia. El tema en si es extremadamente amplio…pensé que lo mas útil seria centrar la atención sobre cinco desafíos a que la iglesia antigua tuvo que enfrentarse, que han aparecido repetidamente en la historia de la iglesia, y que hoy siguen siendo de particular importancia para la iglesia evangélica latinoamericana. De ahí el titulo del libro, Desafíos Perennes. No se trata entonces de estudiar y contar la historia por mera curiosidad anticuaria, sino mas bien de estudiarla como lección, como recordatorio y como desafío: como lección, para aprender de la excelencia de nuestros antepasados en la fe; como recordatorio, para hacernos ver que en el proceso histórico hemos olvidado elementos importantes de la fe, el pensamiento y las practicas de la iglesia antigua; y como desafío, porque en esa historia, con sus aciertos y desaciertos, nuestros antepasados en la fe nos retan a aprender de sus experiencias, a evitar sus errores, y a emular su fe.”
