Fundamentos Bíblico-Teológicos del Matrimonio y la Familia

Marriage and family have their origin in God himself. They belong to the order of creation. In other words, they are not distinctly "Christian" institutions; they do not begin with Christ nor are they limited to the scope of the church. They are rather "human" institutions that develop in constant interaction with the historical moment. However, Christian marriage and family reach a very high value and value when, redeemed by Christ, they become part of the new creation and become agents of the Kingdom of God on earth. The ten chapters included in this book explore what this means, with a view to illuminating pastoral action and encouraging the people of God to put into practice the biblical teaching on marriage and family. Most of the works are contributions by Latin American authors. In this second revised and expanded edition, we have found it useful to insert questions for discussion at the end of each chapter and a supplement that contains comprehension tests.

El matrimonio y la familia tienen su origen en Dios mismo. Pertenecen al orden de la creación. En otras palabras, no son instituciones distintivamente “cristianas”; no se inician con Cristo ni se limitan al ámbito de la iglesia. Son más bien instituciones “humanas” que se desarrollan en constante interacción con el momento histórico. Sin embargo, el matrimonio y la familia cristianas alcanzan un significado y un valor muy elevado cuando, redimidos por Cristo, pasan a pertenecer a la nueva creación y a ser agentes del Reino de Dios en la tierra. Los diez capítulos incluidos en este libro exploran lo que esto significa, con miras a iluminar la acción pastoral y estimular al pueblo de Dios a poner en práctica la enseñanza bíblica sobre el matrimonio y la familia. La mayoría de los trabajos son contribuciones de autores latinoamericanos. En esta segunda edición revisada y ampliada, hemos creído útil la inserción de preguntas para la discusión al final de cada capítulo y un suplemento que contiene pruebas de comprensión.
